The service

DateKeeper (ourdatekeeper.com) is a shared reminder service for couples and families. A household is a group of up to five people who share one set of important dates, reminders, and e-cards. It is run by a single independent developer, not a company with a support department — which is why every reply you get is from a real person.

Free trial and paid plan

Every new household gets a 14-day free trial with full access. No payment details are required to start. When the trial ends, reminders and card sending pause until a subscription is started; your dates are kept and remain visible.

The paid plan is $20 per year per household (USD), billed annually through Stripe on our website. In the DateKeeper iPhone app the same plan is sold through Apple In-App Purchase at the price shown in the app, which may differ slightly from the website price. One subscription covers everyone in the household, whichever way it was bought. Prices exclude any taxes that may apply.

Founding price. The first 100 households to subscribe keep the $20/year price for as long as their subscription stays continuously active, even if the price for new customers rises. If a founding subscription lapses and is later restarted, the then-current price applies.

Renewal, cancellation, and refunds

Subscriptions renew automatically each year on the card you provided. You can cancel any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage subscription, or by emailing support@ourdatekeeper.com. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

If DateKeeper isn't right for you, email within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. After that, charges are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Bought through Apple? Apple handles the payment: it's charged to your Apple ID when you confirm, and it renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and request refunds from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's standard end user licence agreement also applies to the iPhone app.

Your account and your content

You're responsible for keeping your login safe and for what you and your household add. Add only dates, contact details, and recipients you have a genuine personal connection to — no spam, no harassment, and no using reminders or e-cards to bother people who don't want to hear from you. Members of a household can see and edit the household's dates; invite only people you trust.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your profile and, if you're the last member, your household's dates, reminders, and cards.

E-cards

Cards you send are delivered by email to the address you enter and are viewable by anyone with the card's private link. Don't put anything in a card you wouldn't want forwarded. Card artwork and animated GIFs are provided for personal, non-commercial use within DateKeeper.

AI-written text and humor

Reminder emails, gift ideas, and card drafts are written by an AI model using the details you saved. They can be wrong, generic, or occasionally miss the mark — read before you send. Some tones are deliberately cheeky; you choose the tone in Settings, including a completely humor-free option. The jokes are about forgetfulness, never about anything you'd actually be hurt by.

Reliability

We work hard to send every reminder on time, but email can be delayed, filtered, or lost by providers outside our control, and no service is perfect. DateKeeper is provided “as is” and is a helper, not a guarantee — please don't make it the only thing standing between you and an anniversary. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes — especially anything affecting price or billing — will be announced by email before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
